History
Fushimi Station opened on 15 November 1928, when the Nara Electric Railroad opened its Kyoto–Momoyamagoryomae section. On 21 December 1945 a new track linked Fushimi with the Keihan Main Line's Tambabashi Station, and all trains began running into it. A company merger on 1 October 1963 made it a Kintetsu station, and since 10 January 2024 it has been unstaffed all day. The elevated station has two opposed side platforms and a single ticket gate. It is station B06 on the Kintetsu Kyoto Line, in Fushimi-ku, Kyoto. An earlier Fushimi Station, opened on 5 September 1895, stood at almost the same spot; it was freight-only from 1 August 1921 and closed on 3 September 1928.
Notes
A sign at the station directs tourists who mistake it for the stop nearest Fushimi Inari to use the Keihan Main Line's Fushimi-Inari Station instead.
