Fukura

Fukura Station opened on 20 July 1920 on the Uetsu Main Line in what is now the town of Yuza, Yamagata. Freight handling ended on 1 October 1962 and parcel handling on 15 October 1981, when the station became unattended and was placed under a simple-agency contract. The station joined JR East at the JNR privatisation on 1 April 1987. The simple-agency arrangement was discontinued on 1 April 2008, leaving the station fully unstaffed. On 1 April 2010 the managing station for Fukura shifted from Kisakata to Ugo-Honjō. The station has one side platform and one island platform connected by a footbridge.

Outside the station stands a bronze statue of Sato Masayoshi, who was born locally and served as Japan's first Railway Assistant Director in the Meiji era.
