Location

History

Ehime Pref. Office is a tram stop on the Jonan Line of the Iyo Railway in Matsuyama, Ehime Prefecture. It is stop number 20. The Matsuyama Electric Railway opened it in 1911 under an earlier name, and it took the name Kencho-mae ("in front of the prefectural office") in 1944. In 1949 the track here was doubled and the route changed; until then the road in front of the courthouse was very narrow, and the Jonan Line was single-track in that section alone. Both directions have safety zones. The surroundings include the Ehime Prefectural Office and Matsuyama District Court.

Notes

From this stop toward Kamiichiman, the line climbs on a continuous upward grade.
