Eda Station serves the Tokyu Den-en-toshi Line in Aoba-ku, Yokohama, and is operated by Tokyu Corporation under station number DT17. It opened on 1 April 1966 when the Den-en-toshi Line was extended from Mizonokuchi to Nagatsuta. An up-direction passing track entered service on 1 April 1971 and the corresponding down passing track followed on 1 April 1981. From May and July 1997 the outer 1 and 3 tracks were converted into through-only tracks used by express and semi-express trains while local services use platforms 2 and 4. Platform doors on the local tracks were placed into service on 29 March 2018. National Route 246 runs in front of the east exit and crosses the Tomei Expressway just outside the station.

The station name 'Eda' was written 江田 instead of the local place name 荏田 because in September 1965 Tokyu decided to avoid the non-Toyo-kanji character 荏 when assigning station names.
