History
Arase Station opened on 15 October 1963 as a stop on the Japanese National Railways (JNR) Aniai Line, serving the town of Ani in Akita Prefecture. When the line was privatised on 1 November 1986 the station was transferred to the third-sector Akita Nairiku Jūkan Railway and now sits on its Nairiku Line, 35.4 kilometres from the northern terminus at Takanosu. The single side platform serves a single bidirectional track and the station remains unstaffed.
